Interpersonal skills

Part of being resilient is being able to successfully manage your interactions with other people - whether this is at home or in the workplace. Having good interpersonal skills encompasses so much of our human interaction - from being accepting and non judgemental about others, having a sense of awareness about who we are and the impact that this might have on the people around us, to active listening and empathy when faced with challenging situations.

  • Seek inclusivity and diversity - be accepting of new people and genuinely complement those around you. By showing your appreciation, this will open the door to great personal and working relationships.
  • Promote togetherness at work and with loved ones by scheduling a portion of your day to relationship building.
  • Be positive - people do not want to be around those who are negative all the time, positivity is contagious and will help strengthen your relationships.
